From SmellsGood to The Wicksmith
You may remember us as SmellsGood Candle Company, a name that served us well in the early days. However, as we expanded and grew, we knew we needed a name that captured the true essence of what we do—crafting high-quality, custom-scented candles by hand. And thus, The Wicksmith was born.
For over four years, we’ve been committed to offering candles that not only smell great but are free from harmful toxins like paraffins, carcinogens, and phthalates. Our dedication to clean-burning, non-toxic candles has earned us a loyal following, with customers from coast to coast, from New York to California, and even Australia and Hawaii.

Our story began with a love for candles—specifically, a love for clean, non-toxic, and eco-friendly candles. It all started in a small home in Salt Lake City, where the founder, driven by a desire for healthier alternatives to mass-market candles, began making candles as gifts for friends and family. From a small home operation, we now proudly distribute our candles to stores across the United States. From Salt Lake City to New York, and now expanding even further, our candles are loved by many. We’ve made it a point to offer a variety of scents to fit any occasion, mood, or season—and now, we are thrilled to offer thousands of custom scent combinations that can be created on the spot in our new store.
We’ve also expanded internationally, bringing our love for clean-burning candles to customers in Australia and Hawaii. With every candle we sell, we feel an immense sense of pride in knowing that our creations have reached homes around the world.

This will be more than just a storefront—it will be a fully functional candle-making studio. Not only will you be able to purchase our candles, but you will also have the opportunity to create your own custom scents, with thousands of possible combinations at your fingertips. Whether you’re looking for a soothing lavender scent, a cozy vanilla blend, or something entirely unique, our new space will allow you to personalize your candles in a way that was never before possible.
